How this simulation works

Use the Left Mass slider to set the weight on the left side of the lever, and the Left Distance slider to move it closer to or further from the pivot. Do the same for the right side with the Right Mass and Right Distance sliders. When the product of mass and distance is equal on both sides, the torques balance and the lever stays level. Press Start to release the lever and observe whether it tips or holds. Press Pause to freeze the motion and inspect the readouts. Press Reset to return the lever to horizontal and adjust the sliders for a new trial.
