Corner Kick into the Box
World Cup Physics
Top-down corner kick with Magnus curl, drag, and wind. Land the ball in a target zone at the far post.
What to try
- Kick at 22 m/s, +8 spin, heading 55°, no wind — a textbook out-swinger landing near the target.
- Switch to −8 spin (in-swing) and watch the trajectory bend toward the goal — find the spin that scores directly.
- Set wind to +4 m/s and re-run your favourite curl — the lateral push reshapes the arrival point by several metres.
How this simulation works
Use the Kick Speed slider to set how fast the ball leaves the corner flag (15–30 m/s). Use the Spin Rate slider for in-swing (negative) or out-swing (positive); 0 is a hit-and-hope flat ball. Use the Heading slider to choose the launch direction (35° aims toward the near post; 80° aims more directly across the goal). Use the Lateral Wind slider to apply a steady cross-wind. Press Start; the ball flies under Magnus + drag, and the readout shows the landing point and how far it is from the marked target zone at the far post.
